Some'rrr Pirates Book Discussion Series
The next title in the Some'rrr Pirates book discussion series will be The Captain's Wife by Douglas Kelley. Join Granite State College Professor William Warnken for a lively discussion of this epic historical novel. The discussion begins at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 15th in the Gilmore Room of the library. Refreshments will be served. Books are available at the library.
Book Sale
The Friends of the Fiske Free Library will be having a book sale in the Gilmore Room Tuesday, August 1 through Friday, August 4. Books for all ages will be on sale at the unbelievable price of 50 cents for hardbacks and 25 cents for paperbacks. All proceeds from the sale are used to support and enhance the library's programs and services. The sale will be open during normal library hours. If you have books you would like to donate for the sale, please drop them off at the library.
Landlubber Thursday: Pirate Workshop
On Thursday July 20th, join the crew of the Fiske and learn to make pirate flags and a spyglass at our pirate workshop. Meet below decks in the Gilmore Room at 10:30 AM. For pirates ages 3 to 5 with an adult helper.
Also, at 3:00 PM there will be "Songs from the Seven Seas" performed on the Library lawn. Open to all ages.

Bangles and Beads
Join us for a beading workshop on Monday, July 24th at 7 PM. Librarian Marta Smith will show you how to make your own earrings, bracelets or anklets. We will provide the materials for the workshop but space is limited so please register in advance. For more information, please call the library at 542-7017.
Salt Marshes: Nurseries of the sea
On Thursday, July 13th at 11:00 AM the UNH SeaTrek program will present a program on the ecology of salt marshes. Salt marshes are home to fish, shellfish, eelgrass and seaweeds, and serve as a "hotel" for migratory birds. This program is for ages 5 and up.

Some'rrr Pirates: A Pirates, Treasure, & Seafaring Book Discussion
The library will host a summer book discussion series for adults and teens as part of the library's summer reading program. The discussions will be held on the third Tuesday of June, July, and August at 7 pm in the Gilmore Room. Leading the discussions will be Will Warnken, professor of English at Granite State College.
